Do you have a size limit in mind? I've always loved sulcatas but you have to keep in mind their sizes and winter requirements. Males dig and trash a lot of your yard so I would get a female.

not too big but i would like to be able to let it roam some, perhaps 12-15 inches fully grown?

Have you looked into the Red-Footed Tort? Very pretty and I think max size is 10-20" depending on male and female.

I don't know much about the Indian Star, but it is GORGEOUS!!

I like the Indian Star too. If we ever get a tortoise, that's the first on our list. I've never ordered a tortoise before and can't vouch for these breeders but these two seem to have a nice variety available.

Try adopting from a local reptile rescue. However, do keep in mind the species of tortoise you are interested in and it's size full grown.
