Gromphadorhina portentosa (Madagascar Hissing Roach)

I just added a few of these to my collection to also use as feeders and then to sell to the occasional person who wants them as pets. I also have supplied local schools and science centers with them for educational purposes. These guys get huge and are really cool in a weird way.

I don't have any pics of my adults, but will make a note to try and get a few tomorrow and have them posted up here.

For the time being here are a few pics of small nymphs....in a few more weeks, I should be able to sex them.

now these have always creeped me out a bit. im not sure if it is because of the size or the fact that they are called hissing roaches..... i dont want to be hissed at by a damn roach.

lol they do hiss pretty loud if they are provoked enough...more so the males than the females.
