From the Beach

Hi All,

I'm a small time reptile fanatic in the virginia beach area. I've been into herps since I received a turtle as a present when I was eight. I have an extensive background as an Equine vet tech with some small animal and exotics experience too.
I unfortunately work as a technogeek for a tech startup monday through friday, but my evenings and weekends are spent in my garage reptile sanctuary or at the barn with the horses. I'm glad I fell across this forum, nice to meet other reptile people in Virginia!

WELCOME!!! its good to have you. i love horses, i used to have an appaloosa. his name was snazzy and he was awesome. he loved to barrel race, swim, drive, jump and wasnt scared of anything and trusted me with his life...... whatever i asked him to do he did without hesitation. this might sound a bit pathetic but he was by far my best friend in the entire world. ok, enough with my rant (i do that a lot)...... WELCOME

Steve- only one right now because that's all the space I have. Once we buy a house in the spring its game on!

Ryan - my horses are my family. We have three paints and I wouldn't trade them for the world!

Ryan - We have a paint pony, a big thoroughbred/paint cross who's my baby and a breeding stock paint mare. I was always a proper english rider before and made fun of paints, but now that I own them. I love them.

i did it all. i showed western pleasure, i jumped, i drove (this was one of my favorite things), i did barrel racing and all the other games that went along with it but most of the time i just went swimming and trail riding with my snazz i just started to get into english pleasure when i moved and had to leave all that behind

I'll share some pics of the furry creatures. I have someone coming to take professional pictures of the reptiles, so I'll add those later when I have them. I want them to look their best afterall...


This is Teagen... He's our Paint/Thoroughbred and my big baby

And our newest addition is Raegan, a breeding stock paint mare (means she has the bloodlines, just not the color)

Haha, I can relate. I have two of those bums on my couch now. Beautiful horse and dogs!

Thanks... Yes, those are permanent couch or bed ornaments. Entirely useless in home defense. I'd have more luck unleashing the burm

He reminds me of a high white pied

I've never thought of Teagen like that but yes, he is like a pied. His coloring is pretty rare even in the horse world
