Nice upgrade for the rat cabinet

Some know that I breed rats indoors in a cabinet style setup. I have a much smaller fan in there now that does a great job but requires much more cleaning. I picked this up and will be installing it soon. It pulls 50cfm at only 20w, which will cycle my rat rack completely every minute and a half. It's a hundred times quieter than my old one too!

thats great Nick. I told Miles he should get you over here sometime so you can see our set up since we've seen yours. He is in the process of getting his and my dad together to do a build out of the garage to expand the reptile room.

Where are pics of your set up nick? I know i saw them in a post awhile back. We have to do a new build out for rodents here soon, was looking for ideas. Im assuming its working out well for you?

Im curious as to what your set up is too Nick. I currently have about 500+ breeder females and another 300+ females in grow up racks. Maybe seeing your set up will spark some ideas in my head as far as racks, venting, space, or anything else.

Now I know why my van is so creating hot all of a sudden.. Was wondering why no air came when I cranked the fan on max..

I got the fan installed. Don't mind the tape job. The old hose is the wrong size and I need to swap it out with something smaller. Also have to come up with an idea for a filter support.

Do you have running constantly? How is the odor outside of the cabinet? What about when you open it? I had a larger scale set up but may be down sizing for a bit, was thinking of something like this

I haven't had much time with the new setup but there wasn't really a smell with the old ventilation setup.  Some people were surprised to learn there were rodents in the room.  The smell does get out when the doors are open but I change the litter very frequently since its only 14 tubs.

I've always ran it 24/7. When I cycled it, you could tell a difference in the room.

Ill have to give it a shot and see how it turns out
