Honestly I use newspaper for my balls, cheap ans readily available and doesn't bother them a bit. I know other people have said that the newspaper text will start to rub off on them but I have not noticed it with mine...

Ive seen Ink rub off on the snakes and ofcourse doesnt do much of anything else. I wont use any type of pine regardless, if in a pinch paper towels work well

Baby racks all have paper towels. Adult racks all have Kraft Bogus paper. The Bogus paper is thicker than newsprint and does a good job for me. I calculated it cost me about 5 cents per week per snake to use Bogus. I buy in bulk.
