Man I wish I was equipped and experienced enough to own this beauty. I've always loved cobras.

God I love cobras. But I don't think I will ever have the right combination of experience, room, time and money to keep one :c

They are so gorgeous and so smart though. He is a super handsome boy.

Btw, what's a venomoid surgery? It sounds like its still venomous but the first thing I thought was defanged.

I think venomoid is where they remove the venom sacks. It's more effective than defanging, but it's still a relatively risky surgery, I think.

I was looking at this the other day, and I found an article, but had to leave for work before I started to read it. I'll try to find it and link it.

Someone else may be able answer this better but venomoid surgery is where they remove the venom gland and the better ones replace it with an implant. I have heard the gland can grow back if the smallest piece is left which is why none of these venomiod companies guarantee their surgery for more than a limited time. Technically, venomoids should always be handled as if they are venomous so I'm not sure the benefit.

THat is a beautiful cobra! 2K yikes!!!! I don't trust venomoid, if you are to work with hot snakes, work with hot snakes. The problem with venomoid is that sometimes the venom glands can regenerate, and if that's the case you are now thinking you got a harmless cobra, and one day bam.. you're in the hospital fighting for your life. Nope...I work in field of Biological Safety and my philosophy is as follows: Treat all biohazards as potentially deadly and treat all venomous snakes the same way. The general rule is "Universal Precautions" As a keeper of hots, including a monocled, I take that very seriously. Monocled are not only smart, they are FAST and very UNPREDICTABLE. You never know what is going to set one off. I have a female albino monocled and she can strike 4-5 times in a row before you can even blink. She bites first and doesn't bother asking questions later.

I'm not sure that guy should be advertising a cobra as handle-able...in my opinion hots really shouldn't be "handled" except to transfer them from place to place or bin to bin, for cleaning or feeding or transporting...
