I made a trip to Farmers Feed & Seed this morning after hearing about it from Nick. I picked up 10 bags of Mazuri 6F for 17.95 each. That is a great deal for Mazuri. They also carry Dry Nest pine shavings which I have been using for about a year and it's the best I have ever found. He sells it for 7.75 or 7.95 a bale. I have been paying 10 and was pretty happy with that price. They are big bales. I think the bag says it expands to 10 cubic feet. The best part about the place is it's a mom and pop run business. Just a couple of old guys sitting around reading the newspaper and shooting the ****. I would much rather spend my money in a place like that. They are getting fewer and farther between. I told him I would share his info and he said great just call before you make the trip because he is getting more and more people buying the Mazuri and sometimes he runs out. He got in three pallets yesterday but I bought 10 bags and another guy bought 25 while I was there.

What size is the Mazuri bag? How many pounds?

50lb bag. I picked up one yesterday for $18.85 after tax.

That is about what I pay for delivery of Harlan delivered ($5 for delivery and $85 for five bags). Good to know there are other options out there if I need them, though it is a bit of a drive for me.

I use to use Native Earth and thought that was a great deal. I think it's 45 cents a pound (cheaper there than the place I was buying before). I switched to dog food for a short time and I swear it makes the room stink more LOL. I've heard good things about the Mazuri and figured I would give it a shot. I think it comes to 37 cents a pound but after gasoline it might be at or around the price of Native Earth if I don't buy in bulk next time.

How long does it take to arrive after ordering Don? I have a hard time remembering buying food until I'm out

They normally ship within a few days, then a few days later it is on the doorstep.

Bad news about national pet pharmacy. Both the rat feed and aspen has almost doubled in price.

Yup, I just got my order in yesterday before the price increase. I used a coupon and got five bags for $72. Now, I'm going to have to find another source. I may go to the local Tractor Supply and see if they can order Mazuri for me.

any1 ever tryed the ziegler rodent feed? ive ben haveing great results with it esp with my softys. anyhow i have some extra bags avail as i wont run throught 90 bags anytime soon and can get more if i happen to need any

I use ziegler I love it. My supplier is rite around the corner from my house and the price is outstanding. I'm seeing more growth then Mazuri and its 3 dollars cheaper a bag.

Zieglar is 16 for a 50lb bag? Where might I find this?

Mazuri is the best deal around my area for 50 lb bags. There are 2 feed stores that can get it in for me...but the price is set by the store not Mazuri once they get it. One store is $22.50 the other is $28 and it takes a couple weeks to come in.

Clay, you're the man. I didn't even know he had the Dry Nest until you mentioned it last time. I just finally got around to getting some and you were right, this stuff expands like crazy. I used just over 1 compressed cubic foot and it did 14 mortar tubs You should have seen me and the old man cramming three of those big bales in a coupe LOL

By far the best I have foumd. I was paying 10 bucks a bales before I found out he had and it was worth the 10 bucks to me. Of course 7.75 is better.
