| So in October we took in a ball python that a friend of a friend was keeping. Wasn't told too much other then they had her, and that they didn't feed her because they would fall in love with the live feeders they bought for her. They said they didn't want her and that it was the ex-husbands and he didn't take her with him. She apparently did a few meals but not too many by the looks of her. We took her in and put her in our qt area and had begun putting her on a normal feeding schedule. We started with small rats which was about 10-15% of her current body weight. Everything was fine for about two months till she had a really irregular poop. There was blood in it, it was watery, and there were undigested pieces of rat. We took her and a sample of the poop to the vet immediately. After the vet ran some test parasites were ruled out but an anti-protozoal was administered as a precaution. The test had revealed that the blood was hers and that she wasn't digesting the rats properly. We were also told there was abnormal amount of bad bacteria in her digestive track. The vet suggested to feed smaller meals 3-5% her body weight and to use Bene-bac to help the bacteria levels, but she was fairly stumped. After a few months of that we saw improvement in her poops but not perfect till about a 2 weeks ago. Due to the improvement we gave her an extra rat that week totaling about 10% her weight with the other rat. On Sunday we caught her pooping and noticed what seemed to be the highly irregular poop hanging out her vent. We allowed her overnight to complete the movement and noticed it was still hanging out her vent, she had prolapsed. On Monday we took her to a friend to confirm it was a prolapse and to seek recommendations for help. He attempted to reverse the prolapse the way he has many times before but to no avail. He noticed that it seemed to be an abnormal growth attached to her bowel. We took her into a vet that was still open. He anesthetized the area and removed the mass. He sutured the wound with dissolving sutures and gave us an oral anti-parasitic just in case. She is home and seems much better so far, just giving her time to heal. He said we can feed her at the end of the week. Here are some of the pictures of the events they are fairly graphic so I will link them. https://imgur.com/a/32ijq | |

| Props to you for doing the right thing and getting her immediate medical treatment. A lot of people would have tried every home remedy they read on the internet if anything. Especially considering she was a rescue. | |
