| Are there any Savannah Monitor breeders in the area, or where would be a good place to get a baby? Basically my girl wants one and I want to get her one for Christmas or right after...
Thanks! | |

| Duh! It totally slipped my mind! I was up there Friday for brief second to reward my son for having a good day at school. He calls it the Zoo Jungle. | |

| If you can wait for a show, I only paid 20.00 for my two (one died) at a show in Reading PA. It was 2 years ago, but I doubt the prices have gone up dramatically. | |

| Its only a bit more at animal jungle well double, but in the big scheme of things its not that much, and the next show I'll Actually be back home in chicago for my Christmas vaca... The jungle is gonna hold it for me till I get back so it all works... although I can not wait for the next few reptile shows out near me. The last one out here I had to work the weekend and couldn't get time to go... the next I will not miss.
As for the monitor at AJ, I got lucky and just jumped on it, it was bought and a day later it was returned for no reason, my assumption is that the guy did not realize how big the get... I didn't want to pass up the oportunity, he is the first actual baby savannah monitor I have seen at any of the stores near me... | |

| They are great, I have had several. My first one was a hatchling and got an impaction (euthanized at 3 months), my second was wild caught and I was lied to, he got very sick and then I found this really weird tick in his cloaca (gross) 300.00 at the vet and he died. he was the sweetest lizard ever. I just happened to go to a show in PA and the guy had a huge tub of hatchlings so I got Fred and George. They were 4 inches long and so sweet, and then there was a battle between the two, fred got nice, george got mean and Fred got a really bad impaction (still dont know what from) at a year old and I had to euthanize him as well. George however is 2 feet and actually pretty nice unless he's hungry! I love him tho, he's a great lizard. They are escape artists so get a good secure cage!!!! If you have any questions feel free to ask | |
