| Cool, however, why is there a need to advertise in this article this idea that we need to train hunting dogs to hunt rattlesnakes. In doing so, they are defanging rattlers which to me seems like this author might be on the other side of the extreme. I'm not a fan of hunting rattlers...nor am I a fan of defanging them either.

| Ok, I'm confused: Check this out: from humanewatch.org. This lawsuit was filed back in 2010. I'm confused. | |

| Larry I think the advertisement at the bottom was for them to avoid rattlers. It said he was a bird hunter but I could be wrong. | |

| For the record, I don't support or condone the article at the bottom of the page on Rattlesnake training for hunting dogs. I'm just happy to see that the HSUS may be in some hot water.

| It's clear that the HSUS has been engaging in activities that have caused much damage to many people. This could very well be the end of HSUS. Triple damages... that can completely run them and ASPCA out of business. I didn't know ASPCA was also engaging in this type of behavior. it's sad. I truly hope that local humane societies and local SPCA's don't get a bad rap because of this. Thanks to HSUS, local animal shelters may be misidentified as being part of this mess. The irony here is that the HSUS could have truly done some good work by giving money to local shelters to help homeless cats, dogs and other animals....instead...they have decided to engage in an ideological political battle that has destroyed the reputation of true and righteous animal rights advocates. | |

| Its sad that the local shelters may have there reputations tarnished by an organization that is completely politically motivated. I try to support them as much as possible. I have a friend that works for a local spca and hes getting me information to be able to aid them with reptile rescues since they don't always have the means to care for them. I hope it'll work out. I really hope the HSUS realizes they have done more harm then good but i doubt it. | |

| I have heard of rattlesnake training before. From what I understand they take the dog and put him near a snake. When he approaches or shows curiosity in the snake he gets a negative reinforcement. The purpose of the training is to cause the dog to have an aversion to snakes especially snakes that could easily kill them. | |
