Pieds Browning Out?

Does anyone know around what age or size the orange in pieds starts browning out? Do they all look bright orange as hatchlings?

I've never owned one, but everything I've seen over 1200 has been brown. I've heard adding the yellow belly gene keeps that orange glow.

Pumpkin pieds will keep their orange but as far as I know, all regular pieds brown out.

thats why i want a yellow belly het pied to go with my pastel het pied

That would be really nice. Jeremy at Fireball Reptiles has some really nice pumpkin pieds and yb het pieds. I may get an ivory later this season and work on a 4 year pumpkin plan.

I ended up getting the pied today. He is 175g and really orange. I'm interested to see if he keeps the orange or when he starts browning. I'll post some pics in the show room after he acclimates.
