Hello,

It's been a while since I had to introduce myself on a forum. Let's see if I can remember the dance steps... One thing to know about me, I'm Deaf. Normally, this isn't an issue, but it does affect my typing as I tend to type sort of bluntly (at least that's what people tell me.)

My name is Deborah, not Deb, Debbie, Debi, or any other derivation of the word. It seems minor, but it's the only name I have and I like how it rolls off the tongue and looks in print. Laughing

I've been breeding for a while, but because of health issues have had to sit back and take things easy, but I still have a project under my belt that I am working on and looking forward to sharing the results.

After having a stable of over 100 animals, it's quite easy to take care of the 9 that I have left. I've bred my own rats, ASF, mice, gerbils, rabbits...plus all the snakes...boy..I was busy. affraid I don't want to be back at that level but I am going to keep my hand in for a while because I love playing with the genetics of Ball Pythons. Very Happy

I'm glad to be here guys! I'm looking forward to becoming acquainted with new people, and hopefully sharing and learning new things.

I believe that we've barely scratched the surface on what we know about these animals.

Thanks Stephanie,

It looks like I am a bit farther from everyone than you all are from each other? I've lived in Norfolk before, and the floods had me running, but I've also been in Chesapeake and loved the beach.

That is exactly what I love about this hobby. You continue to learn and grow. The more you know, the more you learn that there is a lot more to learn.

Yes you are a bit further away. My brother lived in Alexandria when he got stationed there after they left Korea and he now lives in VA Beach.

Exactly! I'm in the midst of switching my remaining snakes over to F/T and so far, everyone is eating, so I'm learning that not all BPs are fussy eaters. lol

Welcome Deborah! I used to live in the Fairfax area, but I came back to the beach. I missed the ocean too much

Thanks guys!

Mad, I used to live right across from a "little-known" beach in Norfolk, Va I was living on Ocean View in this older TREASURE of an apt that didn't cost an arm and leg.

The beach was right across the street from me. I didn't have to do anything but don my beach clothes and cross the street! I LOVED it....but didn't like the associated floods.

I got stuck in a flood on the way to work one evening. I didn't even KNOW that a street could get that deep from rain. My back seat was actually FLOATING and I was stalled. Funny thing is I used that street daily on my commute so even though I had seen others in the same predicament, I had NO idea that a flat street could get water that deep. Shocked

I appreciate the effort! I'll have to memorize everyone else's names, too. Very Happy

Nick: I don't know what the name of the beach was, I never saw a sign anywhere. But there were homes along this beach and it was down the street from a 7-11 (if I am recalling correctly). But people did fish on a giant wharf thingy.

smd58: Thanks! cheers

Jabber: You are SO right. I have been to VA Beach a few times...it's much overrated and NOT for lovers (the water and beach are so dirty). Facepalm
