Blue Tongue Skink??? and yes take it to the vet. With the antibiotics and other medications that it is probably going to need you just got yourself an expensive lizard. I hope that it does well.

So sorry about the problems with your new addition. Would love to talk with you one on one and give you some suggestions I did with mine. Also, I use a vet that is in Virginia Beach who is a herp specialist. Sorry that I don't know his last name. Steve knows him and can give that to you. His first name is David and his number is 460-3308. I highly recommend him.

My skink (Stubbs) had many problems with his MDB when I got him: spine was almost collapsed, huge bump behind the tail, triple S bend in his tail, front leg was paralyzed, body totally rigid and unable to bend. It took a lot of work, but we finally got him turned around.

Feel free to call (or post) me any time. I'm always happy to help if I can. My number is 467-7903 (H) and 621-0025 (c). I'm in Wisconsin until the 4th so if you want to call, please try the cell number first before then. After that try to call at home first.

My bluey couldn't use his front left leg either. He was not able to move it past his shoulder. When he finally did start moving it, he walked on the top of his foot for months. I didn't think he would ever be able to flip it forward.

We did a lot of water therapy with him to get him moving again. I would hold him in water in the bath tub so his feet could not touch the floor. He would move his feet to try and swim. When he was able to do that, I put him in the tub and let him walk around for an hour or so a couple of times a day. The buoyancy took stress off his joints and helped him become mobile again.
