Leo is shedding but wont go into moist hide!

My leo is shedding and he keeps coming out of his warm hide and walking around rubbing his head on things but instead of going into his moist hide to help, he just goes back into his warm hide. I know he is in discomfort and is annoyed by his shedding on his head as he keeps repeating this cycle. Is there anything I can do for him?
