Hello! I'm in Virginia Beach and am looking for a rescue group or new home for my Mexican Dwarf Boa snake...I do not want her to be bred or sold. I've had her for about 10 years and it's a tough decision to re-home her. She is about 9 feet long, easily handled, eats pre-killed or frozen (will eat live), comes with her large enclosure (if you want it), and is healthy. I only have one request...after you meet her, I get to stop by to see where you would keep her. I just want to have piece of mind because I already feel bad about re-homing her.

A dwarf boa that's 9 ft?

I am still looking to re-home her, I was told she was a dwarf by the pet store I got her from...but was later educated by a reptile specialist that she will probably get a few feet bigger because she's female. I have a couple people interested, locally in Virginia Beach, so I'm hoping one works out here...

If she's 9' and growing she's not a dwarf boa or even a dwarf cross. The "dwarf" species (e.g. Dumerils, Cay Caulker, Tarahumara) females top out at around 7', and even that is pushing it.

Do you have a picture of her? At 9' she's most likely a common BCI and the pet shop called her a "Mexican dwarf" to justify a higher price tag - these species are often pricier since they're a bit rarer, they are cheaper to feed, and they don't require large expensive enclosures as adults.

At her size there's a (IMO small) chance she's a Sumatran or Guyanan, but they would never be referred to as a Mexican dwarf.

im pretty sure that I have adopted this snake from this person...orginial post seems the same as the craigs list....but cannot be 100% its the same girl...but if it is it wasnt a mexican dawrf but a guyanan bcc. I currently.have her and have posted pics...she is 10 feet give or take a few inches. girls name is angela I think.
