| Hoping to familiarize some of the younger keepers with a legend. Bill has served as a folk hero to many of us. Often known as the Miami Snake Man, Bill was always on the leading edge. He had exotic venomous snakes during an era in our history when virtually no one else did. In days before top notch medical care, he experimented on himself, injecting cobra venom. Bill probably suffered more venomous snake bites in anyone in history, including the snake handling preachers. And if that wasn’t enough, he lived to be 100 years old. What an amazing man. http://www.billhaast.com/ | |

| The legend of Bill Haast! I wrote an essay about him for my mid term exam. His life story is extraordinary and it made me more aware of what our hobby is. The passion he had for those snakes and his life work was moving. My teacher thought I was weird for writing about him lol. | |
