| Ugh! So sick of these little *beeeppp*! I have no idea where they came from but they need to go. I woke up and my small female African Rock was COVERED and I felt so bad! I immediately took her out, bathed her, bleached the tub, and sprayed everything. Everyone has a little bit of them in their tubs but she and my juvie male burmese were the worst. WNRGWIAPENTHKNAESHRIWAUEHNGKAUNE Wonderful timing for my move. Anyway... On a lighter note.. My little baby black ratsnake just shed and now he's in that cute/awkward stage where he's starting to turn solid black but still has his baby pattern. So cute. | |

| Thats horrible! I hope they bugger off soon. Thankfully I have yet to run into any mite issues. I bet that bath felt wonderful on your African Rock. I bet he is adorable! | |

| My ex got a red tail boa on an impulse buy and didn't know anything about them (stupid), but he didn't spray down the coconut bark (or whatever that substrate is called) with mite killer before he put it in her enclosure. She got the mites from that and he didn't even notice until I said something. They're a nightmare to deal with.
Thank goodness she stayed when he left. Ha.

| Ugh! They just aggravate me! And with the worst timing ever.
Yes little Ursula enjoyed her bath time, you could see the satisfaction on her face.
I've heard a lot of horror stories from people who use coco bark with snakes.

| Make sure you treat everything, and do it again around 30 days. | |

| Man I feel you there. Mites are the worst >< I hate how fast they spread! We had a scare a few weeks back where my roomies' adult male boa turned up having them. I made it VERY clear that they were NOT to touch any of my snakes so long as he had mites. Mites suck with ONE snake, much less an entire collection. | |

| My blood python actually had mites for two months before I went to an expo an found the solution. I had bought sprays, bathed him, and the mites kept coming! A guy at the expo told me to use dog and cat Flea Powder! I rubbed a little on the animal and lined the enclosure with some. I have not seen one mite since(except dead ones!) And, the flea powder didn't harm the snake at all. I wish you luck in getting rid of them! | |

| I was talking to Frank Shealy of Southside Serpents and he told me to use a spray bottle of 95% water and 5% Hartz flea and tick dog shampoo. I've never heard this method before, so I figured why not. He's a professional, I can always learn new things to pass on. So I go home and try it out and BAM. Kills on contact. I'm almost mite free again. | |

| I had to delay getting my baby green burm at the show because of these nasty things. I spray with revenge in my eyes. But, I did see my baby boy at the Richmond show. He was kind enough to still bring him for me to see, just sad I couldn't bring him home. | |
