Wouldn't recommend carving on box turtles but it is still a pretty cool story. I think it's amazing the turtle is in the same area for that long.

Well, in 1965 you could get a monkey for filling up your car. So carving initials in a turtle was not that big of a deal back then. I'm surprised it isn't bigger.
