Wireless thermometers and sensors Empty
PostSubject: Wireless thermometers and sensors   Wireless thermometers and sensors EmptyThu Mar 01, 2012 10:43 am

I'm in the process of buying three wireless thermometers that can handle up to three remote sensors each for my incubator tubs to monitor temps from my desk. Has anyone had experience with these or a certain brand? Pros cons?

They are you typical readers in tenths with +/- 1 degree accuracy

I use them. Bought them on Amazon.com. I've got three sensors in my incubator (one on each shelf). They work fine.

With as many wires as I have around, these would be perfect!!! I'm going to have to look for these.

Sweet. Thanks for the replies, I went ahead and ordered them.

I hate the little zoo med probed thermometers and was about to order a bunch when I stumbled across these. Here's what I ordered but not from them:

What's really funny, is additional sensors cost as much (if not more) as the entire unit, so I bought three units. I haven't decided if I am going to run all three units with individual sensors so I can read them at once, or program all three to one unit and save the other units as back ups or for future sensor additions.

With a little searching around, I found them fro $15 each shipped.

Ok, I guess it's actually 1.5 degree accuracy. Dang, I guess I got mixed up reviewing so many.

I've got two different brands (two sending units on one and a single sending unit on the other). I also place digital thermometers inside my incubator. So, I've got lots of readings. When I place a digital thermometer and a sensor side by side, I usually get readings within .1 or .2 degrees of each other.

I'm not sure of the name brands of mine, but they work very well and seem to be pretty accurate. If they are not accurate, then neither are my digital thermometers and heat guns. And, they are all off by about the same amount - which I would find very improbable.

I got them off ebay from a guy in N. Carolina. He was close and had exactly three. I asked him if he would cut me a deal on all off them and gave me 10% off. I'm not sure if he has more, but this should be the right link to the auction.

Btw, has anyone that have used remote sensors used them in the incubation box and have had issues with humidity, corrosion, shorts etc?

I've only used weather station one, never had a problem with them in a box.
