Bulk cypress

In search of some bulk cypress bedding

A guy in Winchester got a pallet of the 2 cf bags of Kamlar a few weeks ago. I'll see if he has any more.

Hey, I have 45+ 2cubic foot bags of double shredded 100% cypress still left.

I am currently selling them at 20$ per bag (8$ less then ReptileBasics) but for a big enough order I could knock another dollar or two off the per bag cost.

Awesome! I'd definitely like at least two or three. Depends on what the paycheck looks like this week. Where in Winchester are you/When is good for you to meet?

Home Depot its like $1 a bag

I called the manufacturer of the Home Depot cypress to see what it contained.  It has 10% cypress, 50% pine, and the rest is "whatever we were cutting that week", including black walnut and cedar.  I wouldn't use it for my critters and the manufacturer did not recommend using it for reptile substrate.

Thats what I was afraid of using stuff from hd..I'd rather just keep them on ashen at that point. What are your thoughts on aspen?

Oh and the blend stuff

I know people that have been keeping animals on it for 10+ years no issues. Which company did you call that said it was 10% cypress, because its suppose to be majority cypress if it says cypress blend.

What concerned me wasn't the percentage of cypress in the product, but the fact that what they produced wasn't consistent from week to week, plus the potential for black walnut and cedar to be included in the mix.

I looked for the 3 cf bags of Cypress Royale up here, my Lowes didn't have any.

They didn't have any here either the last 2 times I've been.

That mix that you called about is exactly what my friend has been using for 10+ years.

There is a Local place here I'm trying to work with on getting 100% cypress but its all hardwoods no soft.
