Frog problem Empty
PostSubject: Frog problem   Frog problem EmptyThu May 22, 2014 12:09 am

Hi all! So my brother bought a new house and the backyard doesn't have a fence and it goes right into the woods. At night tons of frogs come out and hang out by the pool and in the pool and croak ALL night. It actually sounds like there are thousands of them out there. Someone had mentioned to put down snake pellets down which seemed to work but a couple days later they came back louder than ever. This has been going every freakin night. His kids have to sleep with ear plugs it's so bad.

Any ideas on what can be done?

Most frog/toads only call sessionally depending on the species. During the breeding season, there is little that can be done to stop the males from calling females. Typically frogs are attracted to light as moths and other insects congregate around outside lights at night. Keeping outside lights off at night may reduce the number of frogs/toads.

Ideally, your brother and his family will learn to coexists with the wildlife. After all that's what living in or next to the woods is all about.
