The Tri-Cities Hematological Society held its first meeting in VA on 2.19.13. The club normally meets at Bays Mtn Park in Kingsport, TN. The theme of this meeting was venomous snakes, so the meeting had to be reset in a VA location, given the TN laws on venomous. Over 40 people where in a attendance. I spoke for a bit on rear fanged verses elapid verses viper. Silvia spoke an rehabbing a baby copperhead rescued from a church. Bret Barrett showed off his tangerine albino western diamondback and spoke briefly on it. Then Rhonda Goins, the areas premier naturalist spoke on conservation of the local timber rattlesnakes and northern copperhead.

very successful night and several new members joined the club.
