Repticon coming to Bristol, VA February 9 & 10, 2013

Some of you may recall the last Bristol show promoted in 2003 by Mike Wade. I helped Mike promote that show and worked the venomous room for him. We had 2200 people thru the door. I have been lobbying for Repticon to add Bristol to the roster, and finally they have came around. They have set 3 show dates for 2013: February 9 & 10, 2013, May 4 & 5, 2013, and October 26 & 27, 2013. Everyone that can, try to come by.

Lol, is repticon worth the 7 hour drive?

I dont think ill be at the Feb. show but will most likely attend when they come back up in May

In my opinion, Repticon shows are the best in the world. There is more diversity at Columbia, then any show in the US. Sure Daytona, Chicago, and LA are bigger, but its dozens of tables with balls, corns, and geckos. At Columbia, one will see cobras, gaboons, rattlers, crocodiles, alligator snapping turtles, some of the most exciting reptiles on earth. The show we did in 2003 was packed and the diversity was outstanding. Yes, I think it will be worth the trip. I will be set up at a table for the Tri-Cities Herp Society. Anyone that attends, stop by to say hello.

Worth atleast taking the drive once

Well you all sold me... if people are gonna plan to go from here which one is everyone going to? Maybe if a bunch of us are going we could meet up over there...

I am definitely looking forward to it. I went in 2003 and it is the only show that is a relatively short (1 hour 20 minute) drive. I may even vend there later in the year.

I got more information from Repticon last night. The Tri-Cities Herpetological Society will be presenting a local native reptile display, manned by Bret and Amanda Barrett. Chuck Hurd Serpentology will be preventing a venomous snake display manned by Chuck and Silvia Hurd. I will be speaking on both days. One speech on native snakes, one on venomous. Rhonda Goins, head naturalist at Bays Mtn Park and TCHS vice president will be speaking on both days about local turtles.

If I could make it I would be there... unfortunately I won't be able to make it until may or the October dates...

May 4 is my birthday, I will be celebrating it in 2013 at Repticon Bristol. =)

I have never seen a Sidney Funnel Web on the market and I have been in this market for decades. Haha.

My birthday is actually on May 4th, so I will be celebrating the big 4 – 1 @ Repticon this year. =) I’m sure my lovely wife will have a cake….come get some!
