| I have a new toy and wanted to schedule a range trip. I know a couple people on here have expressed interest in going, so I figured we can see if anyone else would like to go and make a trip out of it. I'm leaning towards this place but I was told there was a cheaper place that is closer to civilization http://www.thec2center.com/"Law Enforcement and Military receive 10% off hourly rates." Tentative date: January 12th

| Ok, I was thinking about sometime in January since this is such a busy month. Maybe right after the New Year. Oh yeah, I heard it was heated but not 100% on that. | |

| I'll be there depending on when it happens. I will be out of commission for a few weeks shortly after the first of the year. | |

| Sounds like fun. If I can break free, I may join the group. Are there any limits on the range? Types of weapons or ammo? | |

| I don't think there would be many. Maybe shotguns, but I would call.

| I went and got some refresher training today and I'm good to go on the 12th if anyone else can make it. There is another place on the Marine Corp base by my house that I went to today. If you are military or federal employee, it's pretty cheap and they have memberships from $15 a month to $100 a year. Ammo is tax-free and the place is stress-free. - TheRealYoda34 wrote:

Not sure, I looked and couldn't find anything. I'm down with trying a different place every month and there are couple places that I know have rentals.

| Is ur new toy a rifle Nick? Just curious cause there are plenty of indoor ranges that don't involve the membership fees and are closer to civilization. | |

Hey Joe! Yep it's a rifle. The place I went to charged by the hour too but two hours were more than a one month membership ($9/hr or $15 for one month) so I just went for the membership. I'm definitely trying to check out some other places though.

| Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to a little more long distance shooting. I don't think I've ever shot over 100yds and need to zero in at 50; C2C seems to have the most flexibility. | |

| Best get your rounds in now. I have a sinking feeling that we are about to be bombarded with regulation after regulation regarding guns. | |

| I have to agree with Don. People are blowing up facebook about gun control. I used to be one of those people that hated guns and would gladly see them banned. Then I educated myself, went to hunters safety course, and hope to purchase my first gun this coming year. | |

I've already been looking at a CMMG 22LR upper receiver just so I can stock up on the cheaper stuff too. They just need to get back in stock

| I'm on the fence. I was looking at a Noveske AR, but from what I'm reading, politicians are calling for an outright ban, not a freeze. If that happens, it will be illegal to possess an AR.
I just hope we don't go the way of Australia after the Port Arthur massacre. The Australians used to be known as an independent free strong-willed people - not any longer. I was there in the early eighties and again in 2003. The difference in society between the two visits was amazing.

| I don't think they would be able to do outright confiscations, at least not yet. I don't believe that Australians had a constitutional right to bear arms so their "privilege" was easily stripped by the bureaucrats.
Noveske is nice, can't go wrong.

| Brian, I used to think we had a constitutional right to not be forced to buy products from private companies, but the Supreme Court said differently. The Supreme Court has used the commerce clause to increase the authority of government over our daily lives (and not just with ObamaCare).
I can see our government easily saying it is for the "common good" and use the commerce clause to restrict and prohibit any ownership of guns, especially AR type weapons. I'm on the fence still because of my lack of trust in our government following the Constitution and the longer I wait, the higher the prices go!
I really hate to sound like one of those guys with tin foil hats on looking for a militia to join. But, citizens have to look at how freedoms and liberty are being curtailed, inch by inch - day by day. It is pretty sad.

| Oh we're in 100% agreement. I meant that I don't think they'll start with confiscation, it'll be in degrees with a freeze first and restrictions on magazine size a la CA.
Unfortunately, many citizens today don't realize that "being necessary to Security of a free State" refers to tyranny from our own government. The Federalist papers and other historical documents are a great source of unadultered information that won't be found in today's textbooks or in the msm. What's happening today was a huge fear of our founding fathers.
Sorry for the thread hijack. January isn't looking good for me but I'll try to make a later trip!

| Crap. Anyone seen the price increases on mags and ARs over the last week? I think I'll wait and hope things get restocked before a ban goes into place. | |

| I thought it was bad the day after the election. Now it's absolutely crazy. I went by a local shop this evening and it looked they had been robbed. No 223 ammo, no mags, no ARs, and even 3/4 of the handguns were gone. | |
